CPA UK History & Background
The Association of Certified Public Accountants (CPAUK) was founded in 1989 to offer a British version of the CPA qualification here in the U.K.
As a measure of its success CPAUK has more members in public practice than the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland have member firms in public practice in the U.K. CPAUK is seeking to expand outside of its core membership in public practice to include accountants engaged in industry & commerce, the public sector and those based overseas.
